Whether new to the stage or a seasoned player, I welcome one and all to attend the auditions for Oliver! Come prepared to showcase your: amazing acting abilities, singing and dancing skills, and (don’t forget, this is old Victorian London) so bring dialect skills, accents may include: any English, Irish or Scottish accents [the Queen’s English would only be used by Mr. Brownlow].

Several roles will be played by a single actor(Multi-Role Parts). Remember, there is no part too small. From the main characters to the tech crew, no show can go off without each and every one of the parts being filled.

Please be prompt for auditions. Due to the number of characters and anticipated auditioners, we will not restart auditions midway through. Each audition will begin promptly at the assigned time provided on the website (above).

Come prepared to sing a “show tune”, no pop music or songs from Oliver! Song track should be on your personal Bluetooth enabled device or thumb drive. No CD player will be available.

There are several audition dates/times available to allow ample opportunity for all auditioners.

Cast of Characters:

Oliver – A workhouse boy about 11 years of age (10-13)

Fagin – An elderly scoundrel – runs a training establishment for young pickpockets. (35+)

The Artful Dodger – Fagin’s brightest pupil – an undersized 16 (14-17)

Bill Sikes – A villain in his prime (25-35)

Nancy – 23 years old – graduate of Fagin’s establishment, and Bill’s lover. (18-25)

Bet – A 15-year-old lass in Fagin’s establishment – idolizes Nancy. (14-17)

Mr. Bumble – A large and pompous, parish official of the  workhouse. (35+)

Mrs. Corney – A sharp-tongued, domineering widow – the Workhouse Mistress. (35+)

Mr. Brownlow – An older gentleman of wealth and refinement. (45+)

Mr. Sowerberry – The Undertaker (35+)

Mrs. Sowerberry – Mr. Sowerberry’s wife and overseer. (35+)

Charlotte Sowerberry– Their promiscuous daughter. (19-25 possible Multi-Part Role)

Noah Claypole – The Undertaker’s young apprentice. (19-25 possible Multi-Part Role)

Mr. Grimwig – A Doctor. (Multi-Part Role 45+)

Mrs. Bedwin – The Brownlow’s Housekeeper. (Multi-Part Role 23+)

Old Sally – A Pauper (45+ - Multipart-Role)
